CarolinaPurse History

Hello,
My name is Leanne Alexander Lowman,
and I am the designer and original seamstress of the
CarolinaPurse.
It all started when I grew weary of purses that were too big, too
small, too deep, too dark and so on! So I piled all of my purse
stuff on the table and the development process began. I made
my first prototype, then my second and on until I finally hit on
the current design. It all came together in about a 5 year period
of making and using each design.
I didn’t start out with a plan to sell the purse, but as I received
many request for a purse, I started making them as a favor for
friends. Eventually the demand became greater than my ability
to produce.
My employer at the time, allowed me to set up a manufacturing
line in our plant so that I could make my first 100 handbags.
A friend who owns a shoe store, provided an outlet for my first
retail sells.
Through word of mouth and local advertising the CarolinaPurse
has moved from infancy to adolescence, and I have been the
proud parent.
It has been a challenge to find local manufacturing. But I am
proud to have found mom and pop facilities located in South
Carolina.
The CarolinaPurse has become a full time business and I am
dedicated to supporting manufacturing and business in the
Carolinas and the United States.
My wish, is that everyone who buys the purse will enjoy using it
as much as I do.

accessories. Each item begins with the imagination of the
designer who considers how the item will be used and how it will
enhance the lifestyle of the user. Every item is constructed with
individual attention to detail using only the finest materials and
craftsmanship.
